For a legal wedding, yes. Some clients do a legal courthouse wedding separately and then use our service for the celebration, in which case there’s no need to bring or sign a certificate. We’re happy to work either way.

You will need to make an appointment online with the San Diego county recorder, and both you and your spouse-to-be will have to go to one of their offices in person. The license needs to be obtained, signed, and returned to their office within 90 days, so keep that in mind when scheduling (most people from out of town get their licenses a few days prior to the ceremony). If it is a San Diego County license, we will return it to the office for you! We have found the San Diego county office to be very helpful, and recommend calling them directly if you have any questions you can’t find easily online.

Our typical service is a standing ceremony, and takes around 20 minutes, with an additional hour or so after for photography, if purchased.

If it will only be the two of you at the ceremony, without any witnesses (officiant doesn’t count), you MUST obtain a CONFIDENTIAL LICENSE from San Diego County. This allows you to get married legally without any witness signing the certificate. With the standard license, you MUST have at least one (max. 2) witness(es) sign.

You can, and we have signed them. If it is allowed by your state/county/country, feel free.

Our standard ceremony script is non- religious, but we are happy to include any religious themes, readings, or ceremonial activities you’d like. We do not discriminate based on religion or any other factor.

Not unless you obtain a beach use permit. Our intention is to provide the simplest service possible, with no additional rentals needed, but a few clients have obtained permits and rentals. If you want chairs, an arch, decorations, etc., we can assist you with that.

Weather can be an issue, even in beautiful San Diego and Coronado, but it is rarely bad enough to cause cancellation of an event. A little rain makes your wedding that much more memorable 😉

You are also welcome to provide an alternate location, such as your home (if in San Diego area), rental, hotel, restaurant, etc, and we have suggestions as well. If conditions are unsafe to perform, we will allow a reschedule, but there are no refunds offered due to the nature of our business.
